The CAT (Common Admission Test) is a computer-based test for entries into prestigious B-Schools such as IIM in India. The CAT tests the candidate’s skills in four main sections they are Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability. This examination was initiated by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and used to select the students from their business management program. Every year one of the IIMs performs the test.
The CAT test is adopted in order to select students for their management programs from the Indian Technology Institutes (IIT’s) and the Indian Institute of Science. It would be a smart step to prepare for CAT coaching with Coimbatore, in Vibedu one of the most reliable CAT Coaching Centre.
The CAT uses various test forms or versions. The Common Admission Test (CAT). This involves two types of scores: a raw scoring and a scaled scoring. We are the Best Cat Coaching Centre in Coimbatore.
The raw score for each section is calculated by taking into account the correct, incorrect or not attempted number of answers to questions. For each correct answer, the candidates will receive + 3 points and for every wrong response-1 points. For questions which are not answered, no points are indicated. In a process called equation, the raw scores are then corrected. Similar raw scores are then placed on a common or metrical scale to ensure a suitable interpretation of the scores. Scaling is called this process.
|SECTION||NO OF QUESTION||DIFFICULTY LEVEL|
|Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension||34 (7 multiple choice question)||Moderate-Difficult|
|Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning||32 (8 multiple choice question)||Difficult|
|Quantitative Ability||34 (11 multiple choice question)||Moderate|
There are three passages in this section, each with 6 questions and two passages with three questions. Increasing difficulty in “choices” compensated for the relative easiness in reading the passages. With a relatively large share of inference-based questions and response options very close to one another, reading and sometimes reading of the relevant passage portions would have been necessary. More than half of the questions in the Verbal capacity section had no negative characterization because they were not of the type multiple choice questions that could motivate students to try them.
This section focuses on two aspects: data analysis and reasoning. Data Interpretation (DI) subjects focus on the ability of a candidate to draw conclusions from a given data set. A total of 32 questions will be answered in this section. It is further broken up into 24 Multiple choice question and 8 Non-multiple choice question.
